Common Hair Care Myths Around the World

October 30, 2017

Trendy bob or classic long locks—whatever our style—we all have our own unique set of hair challenges.

Our quest for ultra-luscious and glossy hair is never-ending.

Lusting after luscious hair, and worried about tangles, we are ready to believe everything and apply any hair care tip—without confirming the credibility of the information.

We end up believing in hair care myths that are just that—myths—with some of them even causing damage to our hair.

Today, our team at Lice Master bust hair care myths.

Myth #1: Washing Your Hairs Regularly Will Help You Get Rid of Lice

This isn’t true at all. The reason people believe this myth is because there is a general misconception that lice are attracted to dirty hair only.

So, if you regularly wash your hair—keeping it clean—you should be able to get rid of lice infestation.

However, in reality, for our unwelcomed friends, it doesn’t matter whether your hair is clean or dirty; once they come wandering to the un-grazed lands, they tend to settle there.

To get rid of lice, you need to turn to a lice treatment clinic in your neighborhood.

Myth #2: Trimming Your Hairs Regularly Can Help them Grow Faster

Some have even experienced it. But what they experienced is not the faster growth of hair; in fact, it’s a fray-less look that appears fuller and thereby, voluminous.

Stop believing in the myth. But yes, make a habit of getting your hair frequently trimmed; it’s good for the health of your hair

Myth #3: Frequently Brush Your Hair; It Will Make Them Healthy

This myth stands on the belief that regular combing helps improve blood circulation in your scalp. Improved blood circulation nourishes your scalp and this results in healthy growth of hair.

While the latter part holds true, the former, doesn’t. Combing your hair does not improve blood circulation in your scalp. In fact, it only makes your hair weaker at the root.

Myth #4: Applying Hair Thickening Products Will Make Your Hair Thicker

No, it won’t. The thickness of your hair depends on your genetic makeup. Whatever you apply topically, won’t work. However, taking the right diet does help—but only to an extent.

This brings us to the end of our list. Make note of these and go out there and preach.
